The National Gender and Equality Commission (NGEC) hosted a Post-International Youth Day Forum on strengthening youth participation in the 2027 General Election. 

The forum was convened with stakeholders including the Independent Electoral and Boundaries Commission and the National Cohesion and Integration Commission. 

Discussions covered electoral integrity, cohesion, civic education and resisting political exploitation, and addressed the removal of barriers to voter registration.

The engagement set out to promote meaningful youth participation in governance and decision-making, Create dialogue platforms between young people and electoral stakeholders, Sensitise young voters and strengthen civic education ahead of the election.
