The Chairperson of the National Gender and Equality Commission (NGEC), Hon. Rehema Dida Jaldesa, has received Dida E. Fayo, Executive Director of the ASAL Research and Resilience Programme. The courtesy engagement focused on advancing gender justice in Kenya’s arid and semi-arid lands.

The discussions centred on gender justice innovation and the role of evidence in shaping practical and inclusive interventions for women, girls, youth, persons with disabilities and other marginalised communities. Particular attention was given to the arid and semi-arid lands, where climate-related shocks and entrenched inequalities continue to affect vulnerable groups disproportionately.

The Commission and the programme reaffirmed their commitment to strengthened collaboration, the exchange of technical expertise, and the translation of research findings into action for inclusive and resilient communities.
