The Isiolo Regional Office of the National Gender and Equality Commission (NGEC) convened duty bearers to advance the Isiolo County Disability Bill. The engagement focused on stronger legal protections, improved access to services and greater participation of persons with disabilities in decision-making. Stakeholders said persons with disabilities and their representative organisations must be actively involved throughout the legislative process.

 GIRL CHILD PLANNING 

The engagement also laid the groundwork for the International Day of the Girl Child, ahead of its global observance on 11 October 2026. Discussions explored joint activities to strengthen the rights, safety and participation of girls. The theme for the year is End child marriage and invest in girls’ rights.
