The Commission’s engagement with Kilifi County leadership provided a platform to connect national evidence on equality and inclusion with county-level action. The County Government reaffirmed its partnership with NGEC in advancing the rights of women, children, youth, older persons, persons with disabilities and marginalised communities. The engagement also provided the setting for the launch of four Equality and Inclusion publications, covering public sector performance contracting, State corporations, the teaching workforce and accessibility of buildings.
For county governments, the value of the reports lies in their potential to inform planning, budgeting, service delivery and institutional accountability using evidence on where inclusion gaps remain.
NGEC Plants Trees at Kilifi GK Prison
The Commission concluded its Kilifi County engagements with a tree-planting exercise at Kilifi GK Prison led by Commission Secretary/CEO Dr. Purity Ngina.
The activity formed part of the Commission’s corporate social responsibility programme and focused on environmental conservation, climate resilience and sustainable development.
The exercise added an environmental dimension to the Commission’s wider Kilifi engagements, linking institutional responsibility with collective action for sustainable communities.
