Petition on Two Thirds Gender Rule
The NGEC on 11th January filed a Petition challenging the Statute Law (Miscellaneous Amendments) Act,2015 deleting Section 14(b) of the National Police Service Act.
The deleted section contained the constitutional framework of ensuring gender parity in the National police Service especially at the to leadership.
The commission maintains that the amendment is unconstitutional and should be declared null and void with no force of law.
