Malindi Office, NCPWD Celebrate 20 Years of Disability Inclusion in Mombasa

The Malindi Regional Office joined forces with the National Council for Persons with Disabilities (NCPWD) to commemorate two decades of disability inclusion in Mombasa County. Hosted at the Methodist Wesley Hall, the event, led by NCPWD Regional Coordinator Ms. Juliet Ruwa, highlighted the journey toward equity and accessibility for Persons with Disabilities (PWDs).

Moderated by Regional Head Ms. Beatrice Zhige, the dialogue united state and non-state actors to share achievements and strategies. Honorees included BOMU Hospital and the Technical University of Mombasa for fostering inclusive spaces. Individuals like Mr. Solomon Kago, a tuk-tuk driver providing accessible transport, and Mr. Obed Mogendi, Nyali Sub-County Assistant Chief, were lauded for their dedication. The celebration underscored significant progress and reinforced the commitment to leaving no one behind in advancing disability rights.
